That was a constant reminder and I
had forgotten about that.
Thank you for the reminder. It was
insane to believe that.

$h*T happens
by purplesofa ini never knew if i was getting attacked by satan because i was doing good.. or if jehovah was allowing me to be tested by satan.
if i was reaping what i had sown.
if it was times and unforeseen occurances.. if i was really not going to have more put on me than i could bare.

I totally agree with everything that
you mentioned in your thread.
I too went through the same mental
gymnastics trying to figure it all out.

The Great Taboo Discussion— Suicides among former Jehovah's Witnesses
To write about this discussion neither appeals to me nor does it make me feel comfortable to discuss it.
However, it is necessary to consider in light of all the trauma, negative experiences, and personal traged-
ies that have happened to individuals on this board.(What inspired me to write this subject was a bone chilling account
left on one of the previous threads that fused my spine.)Some on this board may have thought about it
It is probably safe to say that some of us did think about it during
one low point in life while associated or leaving the organization.
That is not to say that we would carry the action out—only that
we thought about it.Do you recall of anyone taking their life because of the organization?
Again, this is probably one of the hardest subjects to deal with and it is not a pleasant topic
of discussion and so I wish to extend an apology to anyone who is sensitive to this subject.
However, the question that needs to be considered is:
Did you hear or know of anyone who either attempted
suicide or took their own life because of the Watch-
tower Bible and Tract Society? Please post and share your comments so that we
all may learn of these sad and personal tragedies.Respectfully,

1.)We must be reaching out.
2.)Where there is a greater need.
Personally, hated these
propaganda words including
being called "brother."
Horrible propaganda words that I can't
believe I fell for.

When you started to arrive on your decision about leaving
It happened one day sitting at a Sunday meeting, I noticed so many in-
dividuals reading the answer directly out of the Watchtower magazine
and my thoughts were " Does anyone in this place have any imag-
ination to create their own thoughts regarding a question"?Leaving Intellectually
As formerly stated, my questions started when it seemed that the
Kingdom Hall was full of drones who could only utter the exact
answer out of a magazine. I recall looking around the Kingdom
Hall and saying to myself "I don't belong here." My leaving intellect-
ually was the beginning of my descend out of the organization.Leaving Emotionally
This was the hard part, leaving emotionally. My thoughts were " you traitor
your leaving God's organization." "You will be destroyed at Armageddon."
"You have turned you back on the true God, Jehovah." and other similar
thoughts.Questions for the Audience
1.) When you arrived at your personal crossroad to leave was that based on
emotions, intellect or some other factor?2.) Was your leaving the organization a slow steady breaking away or a quick
affair?3.) What string of emotions did you carry before you made the final step?
Please add your insight to this discussion to help yourself and others.

Dreamscape and Nightmares your subconscious Watchtower thoughts
Having been in the organization for a while produces a certain subconscious attachment due to
all the "mental regulating" by the organization. This may or may not affect some individuals
but there is a likelihood that the Watchtower's "mental regulating" still does carry some
influence.Even in my own Dreams
Personally, I would appreciate any audience input regarding dreams or re-
occurring nightmares experienced by anyone after they left the organization.I have this dream that I enter the Kingdom Hall and everything is in a shade
of black and white except for the podium where everything on stage is in full
color. All the individuals that are standing in front of the podium are faceless
and I am strapped down in a chair encased in a plastic cubicle.
I am screaming to the top of my lungs pounding my fists against the
plastic cubicle and nobody seems to hear me—except one "sister"
who turns and gives me a sly, evil grin; and then she turns her back
to me to continue singing the Kingdom melodies. What does this mean?
Can anyone related to this?
Do you have "Watchtower dreams" ?
The question I have regarding this is— why am I having these "Watchtower dreams" ?Any information that you wish to share to
benefit yourself or others would be truly
appreciated.Respectfully,

Commemorating the five year anniversary of the Watchtower and UN
October 8, 2001 a day that will live in infamy in the minds of those who used to identify
themselves as Jehovah's Witnesses. It has since been five years to the day that the
scandal between the Watchtower Society and the United Nations appeared in a
reputable newspaper in the United Kingdom. Much as been talked, written and
commented regarding the scandal. Those who were affected by the association
It should never be forgotten how this scandal affected
those of the "faith"; with numerous individuals being
reproved, disfellowshiped, and disciplined by the
Society's actions. What are your thoughts five years later?
Even though some may argue whether or not the
Watchtower was associated with the United
Nations; the fact of the matter is that they
were involved with the blasphemous
counterfeit of God's Kingdom. Some questions to consider:
Did the Watchtower ever "confess"
to the rank and file regarding this
scandal?Did there actions affect you personally ?
What did you think when this story first
broke out ?Please give us your support by posting a
comment to this thread to possibly help
individuals such as yourself.Respectfully,

how many atheist and agnostics on this site
by dannygwalsh inhi everyone just a question to satisfy my curiosity , and if you are a non believer are you happier for being so
-
The wanderer
I would consider myself an agnostic
with no real aspirations of becoming
involved with another religion.
Regarding whether or not I am happier
as a non-believer? Yes and No.
Yes, because I am free from high
control groups. No, because the
hope I once had is dashed to
pieces.

Yes, Your Clothing Really Does Matter
Being one of Jehovah's Witnesses always made
the individual conscious of the clothes you were
wearing.
The men had to wear suits and the women
dresses; in order to to keep up appearances
and not "stumble" anyone in the "truth."Attending the meeting wearing a pullover
On a cold blustery day, I had decided to wear a pullover
or for our American audience a sweater. You see at that
time, I was a baptized brother and that was a Watchtower
no, no.The Elders started the counseling
It seems in order to get me in line with the program
I was counseled about not wearing a suit. My reaction
was," I just did not feeling like wearing one today."
The elder strongly counseled me about wearing a
suit and how the Society follows a corporate structure
and we should all follow "suit." (pun intended)Going Overboard
In the 1970s, there were some elders who would not
allow the visiting public speaker to deliver a talk un-
less he wore a white shirt.Your Personal Experiences
Did anyone on this board ever have a groom-
ing or attire issue at the Kingdom Hall?Did anyone get "counseled" or criticized for wearing
or not wearing a certain piece of clothing? Please post your comments so that we
can all benefit from this discussion.Respectfully,
